How do I get red of grape vines that are choking the life out of everything around them?

They are killing my lilacs and starting toward my raspberries. I have cut the vines at the base, but as I am working on this, it seems that they are spread ALL OVER the place....underground... I don't know how to stop them.

Try to get as deep into the root as you can. If these grape vines really make you angry, you may say they are the "Grapes of Wrath". Good luck

just cut them down after you pick the grapes off
