What GeorgeStraitJunkie said and then this: donkeys have long ears, hardly any mane and extremely loud, obnoxious voices. Their hair is much coarser than a horse and they are pretty hairy around their legs too. Their tail is not as thick and bushy as a horse's either. We have a donkey and many horses. I much prefer the horses.

Donkeys and horses are like dogs and wolves. they are both part of the same genus but are different species. they can still breed and produce sterile offspring which are called mules. zebras are also in the Equus genus.
