anymore pregnancy is a punishment, not the blessing that it should be. i've always held that pregnancy should be licensed and sanctioned, in this day and age, it appals me that there is more training and testing involved in driving a car! but biology gives every idiot the right to pilot a human life!
something about that just feels very wrong to me.
there should be evaluations, screenings. people who are clearly unfit (like active drug users, mentally ill med non-compliant, teen and preteen, known abusers, ghetto moms pumping out kids for a living) , and sittuations where the quality of sed child's life will be substandard; these mothers ought to be given a choice.
adoption or abortion. these "ladies" (using the term loosely) need to be prevented by the state from inflicting themselves a pure being.
i had a daughter at 20. i was very irresponsible. my daughter suffered for it. now, at 32, i have a son(3), and my daughter(11) lives with my mom, and she is a very happy little girl

right to life guilt; unwanted pregnancies are allowed to grow to fruition and thus wind up being treated like a burden, instead of a blessing.there's already a surplus of children in the fostercare and adoption systems! there are also the girls that keep their babies thinking it'll be something like a pet and when it turns out cramping their lives and social habits, resentment grows...
there are also well mature adults that expect the baby to come out like a little adult and they are dissappointed in how much work it really takes. also, some adults seem just fine on the surface but they're really not, i mean mentally ill people. a person can live a balanced functional life and never know that they have any problems. then along comes baby, add in sleep depravation and baby's screaming jags and all the other difficulties along the way. after a while things will come slowly bubbling to the surface. then before you know it, the child suffers

save the baby and the mother too.
when you see alot of this on a first hand basis every day, your opinions and ideas get stricter by the day. but to tell the truth, i've felt this way since i was young.
my daughter's life is much better than i could have made it at the time. and my son and i are where we should be. i understand and appreciate what a precious gift his little life is. there's no resentment only gratitude. he doesn't cramp my lifestyle; he is my lifestyle. every child should have a mother that lives with and for them everyday.
isn't that a child's right?
people worry so much about mother's rights; what about baby's rights.

I HAVE NEVER MENTIONED MONEY IN ALL OF THIS!!!!!
i myself live on a modest paycheck!
i am talking about maturity levels and emotional availability. i am stating a case against the abusers and the people who would be by today's standards considdered unfit (if the states ever get off their collective butts to enforce these protocols) i have seen with my own two eyes: a mother declared unfit, has her children removed from her home and placed in PROTECTIVE CUSTODY, not just in fostercare. this woman got pregnant again (without a lingering thought of the two that were just taken) and the kicker of it all, she was allowed to keep this new baby even though she had beaten and starved the other two!
THIS IS THE WORLD WE LIVE IN PEOPLE!!!! WAKE UP!!!!
HOW CAN THIS BE OKAY WITH ALL OF YOU???? THE SYSTEM IN PLACE TODAY IS BROKEN, THE GOVERNMENT PAYS WOMEN TO NEGLECT AND ABUSE THEIR CHILDREN. YOU ALL SAY IT'S THEIR RIGHT! WHERE ARE THE CHILDREN'S RIGHTS IN ALL OF THIS? I ASK YOU...............

The problem with developing criteria before you are licensed to get pregnant is who deicdes the criteria?
Only the rich may have children? You must be Asian? You must be at least 5'10''?
Once you start developing criteria you realize there is no equitable way to do it. Some group is always being favored. Also once you adopt a plan then do you go back and start killing off those that don't fit the profile. Hitler tried that approach during WWII but he was mad man.....

Well - the sad part is that you can't get a dog from the pound without shots and being spayed or neutered and tags, etc. But anyone can have a baby with nothing, absolutely nothing. I feel sorry for you that you think pregnancy is a punishment - why did you have your second child then? Are you an unfit parent? Should you have been screened and tested?

First of all, that's wrong of you to make the assumption that "ghetto moms" are the only ones who pump out kids. Irresponsible moms (such as yourself) are the ones who do this, and uninformed, mislead young women. It could also be done by a NON ghetto mom just to keep the father in her life, or to get even. More classes on pregnancy and sex, more support groups, and more Planned Parenthood agencies need to be more convenient in order to make the baby boom cycle slow down.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! Once again it's the "I feel so guilty" crowd trying to trash our civil rights. Lady, do not give this government one more itsy bitsy piece of power over you or the rest of us, OK?
Don't you think they have enough already! Can we please get out of the "lets pass another law to make us safer" mentality! YOU ARE NO SAFER! YOU ARE JUST MORE RESTRICTED!
You piss me off ! Quality of life substandard? I didn't grow up with a lot of money and was sometimes picked on because of my cloths but I have the most wonderful parents in the world and I stood up for myself and fought back and got my respect. I thank God for my lessons. Who is gonna decide this criteria? I know of no way to predict who is going to be good parents of not, do you? By the way, ever hear of Beethoven? You wouldn't have if you and "BIG BROTHER" had that criteria mind set back then.

Make it know that birth control (which ever kind) is available to little to no cost. Give some people this option. I don't believe licensing pregnancy is the right thing to do. Even if you are on birth control and wearing a condom you can still become pregnant.
Sex ed needs to be looked at in school. It is not working.

Wow, that is a huge suggestion of revoking basic human rights. Way over the top, no way should any government entity be able to tell a woman if she competent enough to have a child. The whole idea is full of problems, making it impossible to impose anyway.

The state shouldn't have any announcing what so ever within the subject, besides possibly with regards to serial rapest. It is our unfastened will that enables us to deside what's excellent for our lives, and our kids. Unfortunatly the challenge lies extra with the loss of morals than it's with those who find themselves getting pregnant. As lengthy as men and women see that they are able to do what they desire, without reference to the penalties, we emerge as reducing down at the freedoms of others with each regulation that's handed. It has lengthy considering the fact that beyond that our society is in a lot want of an ethical facelift and that has to begin with the loved ones. The loved ones unit is meant to be the educating subject of the kids. Not the federal government, nor university procedure, it demands to begin at residence.

I agree completely. These are human lives that people are bringing into the world without a care, and that's not right- every human that is born has a right to be cared and provided for.

no pregnancy should not be licensed. everyone makes mistakes, you of all people should know that. it just seems ridiculous to need a license to get pregnant.
what i can't stand is the mom's who have kids, and leave the responsibility on their parents to take care of them. how irresponsible can one person get. now that i think about about it, maybe they should have had that law, they should have enforced it about 12 years ago.
