I would not say it is being forced down your throat, there are plenty of other channels. The football is no different to other sports for example the Olympic games, or the Winter olympics, both of which only appear every four years but get more coverage than the world cup.

the world cup is an event that comes around every 4 years bringing every country together. football is such a huge industry. why should it not be promoted. people who object need to look at where they are going in life. its 1 month in every 4 years.

FOOTBALL IS NOT FORCED ON US 24/7 AS MOST GAMES ARE ON SATURDAY OR SUNDAY AND THE MAJOR TOURNEMNTS ARE ON EVRY FOUR YEARS AND UNLESS YOU HAVE SKY SPORTS THEN YOU WONT SEE MUCH FOOTBALL ON TERRESITAL TV
