That's crazy as hell! If he's a dad, then that's one thing, but just because he wants you to call him daddy doesn't make you obligated to get him something. If he just wants a gift, then he should say that, don't use Father's Day as a reason to get something.

Usually Father's Day is not only for father it's for boys all over the world. Buy him a gift but you don't need to call him father.

odd requests call for odd gifts. try getting him a gag gift, like a farting beer mug or something completely silly like that. he'll probably get a kick out of it anyways.
