Are you sure it's the starter? Those years had a fatal flaw in the starter system, if the starter turns over then you need to fix the issue not throw a starter at it. The starter itself can be found on ebay or anywhere that motorcycle parts are sold. If the starter turns over but won't turn the engine there is a cheap fix available. You might find a kit for this on ebay, or do a search for "Virago starter problem". I had a 920 with the problem and there is a site with detailed instructions and pics to walk you through the repair.
