Just start using the one you like better. If anyone ever actually checks the new one against an old one, you just say you got tired of writing out the whole thing. If they get really upset, just offer to re-sign with the "old" signature.

Banks routinely do not check signatures on checks below $5,000 or sometimes $10,000. If you are likely to be writing large checks, next time you are at the bank, mention that you've shortened up your signature and would they like you to add that to the signature card.

There's no such thing as an official signature. If you don't like the signature on your license, you can get a new one. But you don't have to. However you make your mark - including a big X - is as legal and binding as anything else.

Get a new license and sign it better. Then go to the bank and re-sign the papers. Pretty darned easy.
