How would you react if you found out that your former boss who laid you off, recently got fired himself?

It really depends on the situation. If you were laid off due to downsizing and then your boss gets fired as well later, then I will feel sympathy for him. If there was no downsizing and he just fired you for no good reason and then he gets fired as well, then all I have to say is "HA HA".

It happened to me. It proves the theory "what goes around, comes around," especially in my case where it was a power struggle and I was threatening his particular status. I did take the company for every unemployment dollar that I could because he didn't provide me with a valid "pink slip." I wouldn't doubt that had a lot to do with his firing since I was at the top of the pay scale. Who knows.

If you didn't burn your bridges and are interested to going back to the company, I wouldn't hesitate to doing some networking at your old company.
