How effective is the morning after pill..my boyfriend and I had sex unprotected, and he came in me quite a few times..does the amount of times that he cums affect how the pill works?

Me and my boyfriend have been together for 6 years..and yes, at times we do slip up. I just recently heard of the morning after pill, so I just wanted to know how effective it was. I would never use it on a regular basis..We do use protection the majority of the time..

The morning after pill is a safe and effective method to prevent pregnancy after unprotected sex. It is most effective 72 hours after unprotected sex. If you need it, you have to see a doctor for a prescription. I know the Planned Parenthood in my area has a phone number you can call and access it up to 120 hours after unprotected sex, so check with them if there is one close by. It's effectiveness is 75 - 95% with it being most effective the sooner you use it after unprotected intercourse.

It doesn't matter how many times he "cums" inside you. Basically what it is is a high dose of hormones that stop an egg from ovulating or stops an egg from implanting into the wall of the uterus. It's very safe....so safe in fact that if there is an UNKNOWN pregnancy already in progress, it won't harm it. It doesn't cause miscarriages or any other problems.

Of course, this is only a back up method of birth control, so if you aren't ready to be a parent I would suggest getting on a birth control method like the pill. And using condoms helps too....whether you use them for pregnancy prevention only or for STD/HIV protection.

No. The morning after pill is effective, no matter how many times. Don't use it as birth control, though. It will make you feel sick.

First: Don't have unprotected sex. Don't have sex at all unless you are married and ready to have a baby.

Second: If you are going to have sex, get a regular birth control prescription. The morning after pill is not a good way to handle it, and should be used only in an emergency like if your condom breaks.

The thing to keep in mind with the morning after pill is that the sooner you use it the more effective it is. So as soon as you have the accident, you need to be getting to the doc. I don't think it matters how many times. It is fairly effective, but definitely not enough to rely upon to avoid pregnancy, it is just meant for a back up plan, to reduce the chance of getting pregnant.

Something to think about, birth control pills can be easy to forget, if you aren't thinking of having kids in the near future you should consider the IUD. It is best for couples in monogamous relationships. Which it sounds like you are. Once put in place it will protect you for 5-10 years. When you decide you are ready to get pregnant, the doctor removes it and you can get pregnant almost immediately.

Best of Luck!

morning after pill only works if you take it within 48 hours after having unprotected sex. you have to go to the doctor or a health department to get the pill, i believe. i don't think you can get it over the counter. i know it was discusses but i still think you have to get a rx for it.
