nick or adam
nick: The male given name Nicholas is derived from the Greek Nikolaos, a combination of the words for "victory" (nike) and "people" (laos). The name became popular through Saint Nicholas of Myra, the inspiration for Santa Claus. The version spelled with "ch" first came into use in the 12th century and was firmly established by the time of the Reformation, though Nicolas is still occasionally found in English speaking countries (e.g. Nicolas Cage). Nicholas is the 64th most common male name in the USA, comprising roughly 0.275% of the population, or 33,845 people.

adam: The personal name Adam derives from the Hebrew noun ha adamah meaning "the ground" or "earth," from which it came to be used to refer to "man," since man was seen as a thing created by God from the earth. This is why the word is used in the Book of Genesis to refer to the first man. It is still a Hebrew given name, and its Biblical usage has ensured that it is also a common name in all countries which draw on Judaeo-Christian heritage. It is particularly common in Poland. In most languages its spelling is the same, although the pronunciation varies somewhat.

Adam also exists as a surname in many countries, although it is not as common in English as its derivative Adams (sometimes spelled Addams). In other languages there are similar surnames derived from Adam, such as Adamo, Adamov, Adamowicz, Adamski etc.

or you can name him nicholas adam -surname-. just a suggestion. =)

Do you have a list of names that you do like? It might be easier to
answer by chosing the best from your list. There are just so many names from so many languages. Do you like an ethnic sounding name, something unique? Or do you like a popular name?
We chose a name that we thought wasn't very popular but we were wrong. We still love the name but unfortunately our son will be one of several kids in his class with the same name when he starts school.
