Absolutely he should be fined or reprimanded somehow. Coach Cowher and Big Ben had a conversation about this same topic last year after Kellen Winslow, Jr. had his accident. I am sure in his contract with the Pittsburgh Steelers states no "risky" behavior clauses.

His riding without a helmet (while stupid...) has nothing to do with him playing football. Therefore, the Steelers cannot fine him for something that has nothing to do with them.
Also, in Florida, you don't legally *have* to wear a helmet if you have a certain amout of insurance. If the laws there are the same (which as far as I know, they aren't) then he wouldn't have even broken the law.

You know what... I hate motorcycles... I mean yeah he should have been wearing a helmet but if he would have been driving a Lamborghini or a Ferrari or something like that this whole thing could have been avoided. Motorcycles are just to dangerous even if your just riding along at a reasonable speed, as you can see that if you have an accident you have absolutely nothing to protect you at all.

I love Ben... LOVE him. But that really does top off the list of stupid things you can do. I'm pretty sure that the Steelers will fine him... if nothing else for being stupid. On the other hand, he might not have the clause in his contract that prevents him from doing things like motorcycle riding.
Really dumb though...

Wow, that's nuts.
Crazy thing is, he was just interviewed on WTAM 1100 this morning. That's the BROWNS Flagship station. I wonder how many people were listening and wishing for something bad to happen to him. And then it did. Spooky.
Anywho, he sounds like he'll be okay. Trust me though, we were upset when Kellen Winslow was injured in a motorcycle accident on May 1st, 2005. Remember that? He missed the whole season.

I think you are the IDIOT! Pennsylvania law doesn't require you to wear a helmet, and for your information I see a lot of bikers not wearing them. So it's not like Ben was doing anything out of the ordinary. Also, a lot of bikers I know think it's more important you only wear helmets when you are doing fast highway driving. Who do you think you are? Do you think you are always perfect? Before you criticize him you should make sure he is ok first!

If there are helmet laws where he was riding, I imagine that he'll be fined by the courts. But as for the Steelers fining him? Well, if you fined everyone for their stupidity, America would be a much poorer country.

I don't think he should be fined from the NFL, per se (maybe PA state though for no helmet) but I do believe that he should forfeit the pay he is entitled in his contract due to negligence if he misses any time on the field and in training camp.

Yes they should fine him. I would, I know that much. There should be no motorcycle riding period in these situations. I think that you should be suspended too, and not paid. That's what the fine should be. I bet nobody else would make the same mistake
