It's an observational illusion. Like how people see stories in the clouds and faces in tree bark. The human mind is very good at observing patterns, and is likely to observe them even when they aren't there.

Here, do a test. Let me guess: you're seeing the number 37, as in thirty-seven, everywhere? Do this: for a period of time, a day or a week or whatever, every single time you see a string of digits or a written-out number, write them down, whether or not you see any 37s. At the end of however long you do it, a day or whatever, look to see how many pairs of digits are three-seven, and how many pairs are _not_. My guess is, after ten thousand digits or so, you'll only see about a hundred 37s - in other words, one percent (1%), no more than chance.

(I say 'after ten thousand digits or so' because if you don't have a large sample, luck can be a big factor.)
