First of all, I'm not sure what state you are in, but every state has a child support enforcement office. That will be your most economical option. They will hunt him down, and take what steps are necessary to start payments. Be warned, this process some times takes a long time. Plus, if he works under the table, then it's almost impossible to get any money out of him. The police will be of no help to you at all, it's a civil matter, not a criminal one, so don't even bother with them. You could contact an attorney, but that is going to cost you. The CSE office will have their own attorney who will handle things for you. Call and make an appointment, and have his SSN, address, place of employment, etc. ready if you can. Good luck!

Wow, three years and no payment. You can get all sorts of court orders from most every jurisdiction that attempt to compel child support payments, but short of garnishing your ex-husband's pay, they are worth the paper they are written on. If your ex is in a stable job and will stay there, then garnishment is the way to go. A court can find him in contempt and they can put him in jail, but they can also order garnishment. (A lot of ex-spouses simply change jobs and then you have to go through the process all over again because a garnishment order is employer specific.) If he receives money from the federal government (retirement/military/disability, social security) you can get a garnishment for that, too - a lot more stable with regard to your getting paid off a garnishment order.

Go to your local Family Court and show them your Child support agreement. Depending on the state that you live in, they will serve with papers for compliance to a Court Order and payment. You will be entitled back payment, if no response, they can either issue a warrant for his arrest or get them straight from his wages.
Ther are also, for-profit organizations that, for a small fee, will do this for you.

Good luck.

You failed to give the state and county in which the divorce took place and the subsequent child support was ordered. If you can edit your question with this information then we can be of better support.

if he has made no payments in three years. And if you know he is getting some kind of income. Take it to your local county attorney's office and the can help. If they don't seem interested go to a local attorney who don't charge nothing unless your awarded. And see if they couldn't help you.

Be patient...it takes alot of time. They will find him and you will eventually get your support. Just keep contact with the court and update them with any new information you obtain (location, SSN etc.)
