Yep, that is EXACTLY how mine were the first 6 times. It means its "old" blood when its almost black and just means she is hardly bleeding. She is perfectly normal! : )

Yes This Is Normal,When You start your Periods you have a 50% chance Of going wrong like the pattern or the colour,i started my periods when i was 11 and i am 13 now,for the first couple of months mine were very heavy and very dark red, also it depends on your blood pressure,if your daughters blood pressure is high then that is why but dont worry because this is very normal of young girls, but soon your daughter will become better and healthier as she is used to it,but if she eats a lot of chocolate that is why and if it is then she should become eating more salads, fruit and healthy things, but dont worry!

Relax.lt's normal.
For the first few cycles of menstruation following mernarche, irregularity and emission of dark menses occurs until the hormones and cycles regularise, and start to occur monthly with the emission of fresh blood.
If your daughter had been having regular periods before, and now has dark red blood, it could be indicative of infection. But seeing as she has just started her periods, this is normal.

Yes, of course its fine, every woman is different, ESPECIALLY at their age!!!
Tell me about it, I have a teenage daughter and she moaned about all her friends having started their periods and she felt quite left out but when she started she wished she hadn't because now she was left out because her blood was a different colour but the doctor said it was normal.

Yes it is perfectly normal-- the ovary's do excrete a red/brown substance sometimes at the beginning or the end of the period-- all it is - is the cycle regulating, with age it should right itself

No. It is not normal. Black blood is usually old blood. You may want to take her to a gynocologist. I have endomitriosis and I bleed a lot of black blood. Is she having a lot of pain? if there is not a lot of pain, I wouldn't worry about it just yet.

There is one way to be sure, in your doctors there is a well women clinic, if not ask them where as your daughter may not wish to talk to her GP. They can talk to her and see if there is anything wrong, and more importantly reassure you both.
