I agree on GrubEx to control the larvae, Agree on pesticide to spray bugs directly when they are on the plants munching away. I disagree on NOT using traps. You must follow the directions on the traps. You don't just set them up anywhere on your property. The goal of the trap is to entice beetles away from your plants and into the trap, and to disrupt the mating cycle and reducing the population. If you attract a beetle with the trap it is a beetle that would have been attracted to your plants or mated to make more beetles. The goal is to have the traps set appropriately You have to check the wind everyday and move the trap accordingly. I've soley relied on traps in the past due to damage to roses. When used right they work and I had beautiful roses.

First start by getting on a lawn care routine. This will help kill unwanted bugs like the grub worms that become japaneese beetles. You can use those bags they sell at your local lowes, but be aware it will draw the beetles to the bag.It will help get them away from your plants but will bring the beetles from your neighbors area also. I havent found a way to get rid of them for good only to tolerate them and move them away from my plants and trees.

They can be sprayed by any lawn/tree company. Resist any impulse to purchase the so-called beetle bags that supposedly entice them in and then they're stuck. All you're doing is sending out that enticement to tons of new beetles that wouldn't have even stopped in your yard. Or you can buy diazinon and spray them yourself. And you're right - there'll probably be more. Good luck!

Japanese beetles start off as grubs in the soil - this fall, you need to apply GrubEx on your lawn and it will kill the grubs and virtually eliminate your beetle problem. When you do see them - use a powder on the plants such as Bug B Gon.

The best way to get rid of anything Japanese is to drop an atomic bomb on it. Works every time!
