When you click on ASK or ANSWER, right above the box youre typing in, on the top right, there is a blue link that says "Check Spelling" You can use that for spellcheck. The correct spelling is on the right panel and if you want to use their spelling suggestions, then you can click on the word that you want to replace it with and then click the button "Change" and it will replace the word for you. If you dont want to change it, but you want it to move to the next word, then click Ignore (for like names and titles). Resume would just continue.
And that is not a dumb question. Dont worry about what others say, as long as you ask, someone will help you.

When you respond to a question, there is an icon above the block you type in and a link that says "Check Spelling". Click that, and it will highlight possible misspellings and provide suggestions. You may click 'Ignore' if the word is correct as-is, type the correct spelling in the "Change to: " box and click "Change", or select the correct word from the list and click "Change."

After you're done writing your question/response, click the Check Spelling button. It'll run through all the words it doesn't have in its dictionary and you can change or ignore the words. Click done to finish, obviously.

an easy way would be to copy your question into your word processing software and using your spell check there before you submit your question.
