Do you know of anything that will help to close a pierced ear? Anything that a dr. could inject, for instance?

I've been waiting 18 months and the hole is still open... so I don't think it will close on its own.

Thanks.

You (like me) are probably just one of those people who don't "heal" from piercings. It kills me when I hear others saying, "What's the big deal about getting something pierced? If you don't like it, just leave it alone and it will grow shut!" That simply isn't true for everyone -- and even if it does, very often there are permanent scars.

See your regular physician and ask about your options. I believe that he/she could re-injure the area (to clear away scar tissue and force it to attempt to heal again), clean the area well, and possibly even put in a stitch to hold it closed.

I guess it really depends on where the piercing is, and how badly you want it to heal. Bear in mind that you will likely have some scarring, although you could use a product like Mederma (available at most drug stores) to lessen the impact.

Of course, if cost is not an option, you could go to a plastic surgeon and get it all done. Good luck -- and remember this lesson if you talk to others who believe that all piercings are temporary.

I had a second earing hole put in my ears, 20 years ago and they are still there. I am not sure what you can do, I am begining to wonder if they will ever grow back....

I don't think there is anything, but I'm not too educated on the matter. I must wonder why you want the hole closed? It's hardly noticeable, right?

it may take a while. Just don't wear ear rings, I mean, you can't see the hole very easily anyway.
