LOL, that's a good question. I can't say i like the smell of my fart but it doesn't bother me when i do it, but it's disgusting when sum1 else does it. I guess i deal w/my farts bcuz i can't make fun of myself but i can make fun of sum1 else when they do it.

I think some ppl become familiar with their own body functions, and smells. However, if the smell or function originates somewhere else, it's unfamiliar, and uncomfortable. This is the case with myself, anyway.

I would not say it has anything to do with liking it. Its to do with the basic human response to find anything that might cause us harm disgusting, Its the same with excretement, Our own bodily functions contain our own bacteria that is already in our system so it is less of a threat to our immune system so we find it slightly less offencive. Things that might harm us are labelled by our senses to give a response that will warn us of its danger, this process has developed over time.

Yea. I throughly enjoy my own farts. In fact, when I did the musical, i collect the air that came out in a bottle and save it for later so I can enjoy it. I love how the waste in my stomach that came out of my body smells like. I hope they can make a car sent out of it or house sent. in other words, I am being sarcastic cus I believe nobody enjoy anybodies smell of waste even your own.

I think it's a way that nature allows one to check on one's health status by smelling what comes out of one's colon.

It makes sense in evolutionary terms - Scent marking is a very common trait in other territorial species, including other apes, and since we are a highly territorial species too, it's hardly surprising that we have inherited the trait of liking our own smell and finding the smell of other individuals offensive. We may regard ourselves as 'civilised' but we still retain all the instincts of our evolutionary past.
