Apathy is blue. You know how the television is blue after ejecting a DVD or rewinding a VHS? But, you end up just sitting there staring at the TV instead of getting up right away? That's the color of apathy.

You didn't hear that Washington unveiled an
"Apathy Alert System?"

"The color-coded system consists of five different colors, each corresponding to the government's degree of sluggishness, Chertoff explained, using a chart and a pointer to demonstrate the system for reporters. According to the new system, the color yellow means "normal apathy--will wait and see how situation develops," orange means "heightened apathy--will not return phone calls" and red means "severe apathy--will not cut short summer vacation in Nantucket."

I have no idea who Matty, etc. are, but the "color of apathy"...well the color I've seen is white, as in my fellow white race of people. I have seen apathy at its worst in rural America especially. White people who are lazy, jobless, uneducated and apathetic. A very sad state to be in. I know there are people of all races that can fall into that category, but I have experienced a large number in small, rural towns.

Apathy doesn't have a color. It is a feeling, an emotion.

Let's all sing together: "We all live in a Yellow Submarine, a Yellow Submarine, a Yellow Submarine. And our friends are all aboard, many more of them live next door..."
