Stretch marks are a form of scarring generally associated with pregnancy, obesity, bodybuilding and puberty. They result from overstretching of the skin, which disrupts the normal production of collagen, causing a scar.

They first appear as reddish or purple lines, but tend to gradually fade to a lighter color. The affected areas appear empty and soft to the touch.

Human skin has three layers of skin: the epidermis (outer layer), the dermis (middle layer), and the subcutaneous stratum (innermost layer). Stretch marks occur in the dermis, the resilient middle layer that helps the skin retain its shape. Once the dermis has been stretched continously over time, certain parts of it overstretch losing all elasticity making the connective fibres within break. The result is what we know as stretch marks.

they can happen at any age, and they cant be removed, only lightened in appearance with something like mederma.

A stretch mark can be caused by growing too fast (as in children) and getting fat or larger quickly (as in weight gain or pregnancy),. A stretch mark is when the skin stretches and new skin forms in between, instead of your skin just ripping. They are first red (when it starts to stretch) and then turn a silvery white. After that they fade to a shade just under your skin color. If you tan, it takes the appearance of stretch marks away. You can also use Mederma, and it helps fade them. Mine kind of faded away on their own. After you loose weight, they get smaller and smaller, and aren't as noticable. If you use coco butter or other rich lotions, it will keep them from coming because it moisturizes and allows your skin to stretch more. Don't ever scratch! This makes your skin dry and crackable causing stretch marks.

When you grow or gain weight very quickly, such as during puberty or pregnancy, you can get stretch marks. As your skin is over-stretched, the connective fibers can break, and this creates lines on the skin. These lines usually start out pink or reddish and fade over time. Old stretch marks may become silvery or turn a color a few shades lighter than your natural skin tone. Vitamin E creams help but only surgery eliminates them.

Stretch marks are caused by either a "shrinking" of the skin or an "extension". It depends on the quality of your skin.

When do you get stretch marks: usually when you grow up to fast, as a teen. When you put on weight or lose weight. When you're pregnant (breasts).

There are creams that can be applied durnig pregnancy to limit those marks, and some which can help them fade. If you're planning on losing a lot of weight, apply some cream.

Otherwise, there's laser. I heard it works, but can't be positive.

Stretch marks happen when you gain weight faster than your skin can stretch comfortably. They are very common in pregnant women. As far as I know, there are some over the counter creams that claim to diminish stretch marks, but I dont know if they work.

Usually caused by pregnancy, because of stretching of the skin of the abdomen.

There are topical compounds to help fade mild marks, and plastic surgery for severe cases.

They can be lessened in appearance but not removed. They happen during pregnancy when the woman's tummy grows quicker than the skin can stretch to accommodate the baby or often when people gain weight the skin stretches because it isn't flexible enough to accommodate the excess weight.

A stretch mark is caused by preganacy, like the saggy stomach when u dont work it out and then its a very pale, whiteish skin line. like strips of white on ure skin. there really isnt any cause. it just looks bad and feels softer and squishyer than the rest of ure body. and means ure over weight...
ive noticed that men can have them to if they are to fat.and women can too. anyone can get them even as kids! u can have it on just about any part of the body and u can never get rid of them once u get them. unless u remove them in the hospitol.....otherwise work out to not get them!

stretch marks are caused when pregnant

some lotions or cremes help the skin be firmer and tighter, maybe this will remove it or just reduce it.
