Yes, and here's why.

The legal systems in the world are extremely falible. They stink! It is easy to make a mistake through prejudice or mistaken identities or whatever and convict the wrong person.

I am not saying that some people don't deserve being put to death, it;'s just that unless we are ABSOLUTELY certain, we can not in good concience put people to death.

We have made many mistakes by putting an inocent person to death and the only fair and sensible thing is to obolish the death penalty.

Well in a good world, yes.

Killing people by any means is wrong, and people who do wrong should be made to understand what they have done, the effect that they have had on the world, their victims and they should have to live with their guilt.

BUT this is in an ideal world, although many people do feel bad for what they have done there are many criminals that feel what they have done is OK. Paedophiles etc.

Is it OK that we pay to keep these people alive in prison when prison isn't even having the effect it should?

I think it should be kept, but this is from the perspective from a person who has been hurt badly and anger is never a good emotion to decide anything.

Yes, if a state or country does not fully and completely understand the moral basis for it, and do not exercise the highest burdens of evidence and proof, then it should be abolished in those countries or states.

Firstly, You couldnt Abolish it globally,

the Islamic world wouldnt abolish it.

Secondly, I think here in the U.k it should be re-instated.
You could start of having it only for Mass Murder
or repeated Rape for instance. (then bring it in for other things??)

i two think we should reinstate the death penalty here in the U.K but i would also like to remind others that we cant do so without pulling out of the E.U and we cant do that or our economy would disintegrate.

Wow, I'm really surprised at the almost complete agreement here and may I say absolutely not. Even if it doesn't work as a good deterrent we still make absolutely sure that they will never kill anyone again.

No way, punishment for horrific crimes has gotten drastically lenient. If nothing else this should be the one thing that all countries should be in agreement with.
