Try and get hold of a book called The Silent Spring by Rachel Carson. In it she chronicles the effects of pesticides and other man-made pollutants on the bird population.

Due to indiscriminate use of of mobiles, the vibrations which have bin produced in huge amounts-->has resulted in the death of many organisms....one of which being the sparrows!!
the intense vibrations has somehow affected them biologically..resulting in their decline..

the popularity of clear, clean and sterile gardens without thick bushes means birds like sparrows have no were to nest. hesce their decline.
