i feel like i have looked everywhere and cannot find anything which is a nice size that isnt 2 loud looking or expensive... any ideas?

Have you tried Accessorize? They have shops all over the UK but if there isn't one near you, check out their website. They even have a section for metallic bags on there, so you should be able to find a silver bag no problem. They're also pretty reasonably priced.

I have a Kenneth Cole bag... See if any shops sell him there. If not, try a smaller bourtique or Ebay.
(Shops that sell Mother of the Bride dresses often have nice evening bags.)

There are many eBay sellers in the U.K. that sell silver evening bags. I know cause I'm looking for one too.
