...is Gage Dylan. Do you think that is an odd name? I posted wondering what people think of the name Zhane for my next boy and they replied to be careful because kids are cruel and will make fun of that... will they make fun of the name Gage?

Kids will make fun of ANY name whether it's Gage or Joe... they will always come up with some kind of stupid comment. But WHO CARES?????????????? Teach your children to be strong, confident and courageous and they will be able to conquer all.

No ~ unusual names are pretty usual these days. I like the name Gage and the name Zhane (pronouncing it Zane I assume?) and you should name your child whatever you wish. I grew up with a very common name (Amy ~ very big for girls born in the 70's!) and I always wished to be a little more unique. Besides, nothing is worse than the kid named "Pumpkin" in my daughter's class. Nobody's made fun of her so far, so I think Gage and Zhane will be safe!

I love the name Gage! If my baby was a boy I wanted Gage to be the middle name. I like Zane a lot too. I dont like it with an 'h'. I don't think they'd get made fun of. I dont think kids get made fun of because of their name as much as people make it seem, unless it rhymes with a dirty word.

both names nice very nice, but kids r the cruelest creatures on earth. so name yr children with the names u like and tell everyone else this is what u r happy with. kids can find other things 2 make fun of a child about if not their name

You have to name your baby what you feel is appropriate for your family.
Children will make fun of other kids no matter what their names are. Trust me I know that!!!
Name your baby whatever you want and give that baby lots of love and do not worry about what other people say!

I took that into consideration when naming my son....but I can't think of anything kids can say to make fun of the name Gage....if they can, it can't be hurtful..... "Gage Page..."??

Kids make fun of lots of names so who knows. My daughter has a unisex name (Jordan) and is made fun of by some kids (they call her Michael Jordan)
