How to prevent mosquitos and other types of insects biting me?

Try bug spray, or wear dark clothing... sometimes bugs are attracted to Carbon Dioxide, the chemical we breathe out and they sell machines that produce that chemical to lure mosquitoes out then trap and kill them!

I am a west nile survivor and I will tell you that you should avoid going outdoors at dusk and dawn when mosquitos are most prevalent. Use DEET containing products and if you must be outdoors in any grassy or wooded area you should wear long sleeves, plants and socks and shoes.

Trust me when I say that West Nile changes your life.

I've found (over the past several years) that I don't get bug bites because I eat a lot of garlic. It's also good for your arteries. If you don't like garlic, you might try odorless garlic supplements, but I don't know if they would work. Use real garlic, not powder. If you can stand it, squeeze a clove of raw garlic over your food just before eating. This works best.

I've heard to use a bounce sheets.Rub it on you then stick it in a pocket or put it around a belt loop. It is also supposed to keep other insect's away and you will smell great!

Most important stay away from any cologne - they are attracted to it. Crazy but the best seems to be Avon's Skin so Soft. Our Vet even had us put it on our horses to keep horseflies from biting them.

Take vitamin B, it produces a smell that the mosquito's don't like, but you won't be able to smell it.

If you dont want to use sprays, try garlic tablets. I bought a mosquito deleto last year and use it outside.
