I do generally like Bush and most of his policies. I do follow politics, both foreign and domestic. Bush has taken a "get tough" stance with the rest of the world which is what has been needed for many years. The US is the pre-eminent power in the world and thus should hold the most sway in decision anmd policy-making. Bush and Congress need to further this goal by tightening the purse-strings on foreign financial aid directly to other countries and the UN. Basically a policy of "it's our money; do it how we want it done or you don't get it". Then seriously cut off aid to some of these countries like we did with the Palestinian Authority. We saw how quiickly they came to heel when their funds were cut off.
I believe Bush should stop trying to pander to the Hispanic and Latino vote on immigration. Put troops with arrest authority on the Southern Border and aggressively go after any employer who hires an illegal alien. A fine of perhaps $100,000/illegal would make all business sit up and take notice. Also cut off all domestic aid to illegal aliens (ie; schools, hospitals, food stamps, etc.) Begin enforcing these policies and illegals not only will not come to the US they will leave in droves. If you can't work, can't earn money, and can't eat then you will leave.
Lastly, in terms of energy policy we have to develop more alternative forms of energy other than hydrocarbons. If the gov't assisted with the funding of just new roofs with solar shingles and systems that fed excess electricity back into the grid. There would generally be an excess of electricity daily. Changes such as these which are basically passive and require nothing more than a building code requirement are necessary to getting the US energy independent.

Scott_C said it best: "I'll take an intelligent speaking Bill Clinton over a stuttering George Bush any day. He loved to hide information, and blame other people for his failers. IRAQ did not attack us and according to the 911 Congressional committee IRAQ had no connections to terrorism. I support the war in Afghanistan because they attack us, but you don't use the Afghan war to start personal objectives.
If you think Bill Clinton was a draft dodge what about Bush using his family's political power to keep him in the National Guard.
At least John Kerry is a respectable war veteran who fought for our country."
Clinton's lie didn't kill anyone. Our economy was better. He left a surplus for Bush, which was deminished in no time thanks to the new administration. 9/11 could be partially to blame for that, though. Republicans love to complain about Democrats spending too much, but Bush has yet to veto a spending bill. All in all, I can't say that I hate the president...but I would love to have Mr. Clinton back in office.

Ok first off, yes the girl is entitled to an opinion, even when it is backed with no knowledge of anything. And to you our friend from the north, stay in canada and keep your political coversations and opinions in matters that concern yourself and your country.
I am currently in Iraq serving for the army and my country. Am I defending my country, Maybe I can't predict the future and I'm not 100% sure that Iraq would have been I serious problem in the future, but I do know that Saddam ignored sanctions placed by the UN and continued to act is if he had WMD whether he had them or not. So should we have came here, hhmmmm I'm not getting paid to make that decision but my opinion is yes. It's like a kid a school that has been suspended for assault before. The school lets him come back walking a tight line. He makes threats, and never agrees to allow the school staff to check his wall locker for possible weapons. So you tell me for the safety of your child would you want the police called in to check for themselves or would you wrather risk your childs safety. Because lets look at the big picture here people moreless by you saying no dont search than you are backing down and allow the bad guy in this world the edge that he wants.
I do not approve of everything this administration has done, but will their ever be one that I do? I doubt it, because everyone has their own opinions on how things should be handled. But I do know that I stand by my word, and I am standing in Iraq today not defending my freedom, but another nations. Our mission is not to change these peoples way of life Lady, or man. Our mission is to offer them the choice to live their life the way they want to live it. Just as you have that same option. They will no longer live in fear when the smoke is clear. They will not have to worry of rape, from their countries leader, or execution. Things aren't good for the Iraqi people now, but look at the facts was it ever? At least now the people know they have a chance at freedom, and BELIEVE ME THEY WANT IT.
So to you people who form your thoughts off of the MSM (main stream media) you'd probably get a different more correct source other than the ones that are just trying to get ratings. A site you might be interested in is www.boredsoldier.blogspot.com I assure you the information at this site you get will be correct. And instead of dealing with the middle man, get it from the soldiers on the front lines.

No, I don't like him at all, not even for the slightest second.
Have you ever seen Fahrenheit 9/11? Very biased documentary, but my god does it make you hate Bush like you've never hated him before (and laugh at him of course lol). And there's some pretty sick footage on it concerning war...it's disgusting.
Anyway, I think he should never have been voted President. EVER. In my opinion, he's not even fit to be involved in politics whatsoever. Quit your day job, Bush, make us all proud. I'm happy to be Canadian (I have nothing against America, just not a Bush fan is all).
And for Miss_Red...yes, she is entitled to her own opinion; everybody is. I don't recall seeing some rule anywhere on this site stating that young poeple (assuming the asker is young) can't share their opinions/ask quesiton about politics.
Don't you hate it when people speak to you like you're just discovering life?

I think everyone is entitled to an opinion to begin with... we certainly all do, without having to resort to belittling others.
I don't like him, his policies, or his administration.
I think he lets his temper get the upper hand too much of the time. As a recovering alcoholic, he should know better than to drink supposedly "non-acoholic" beer (as he has been photographed doing). I think his policies have been divisive to the American public and I dread the thought of two more years of him and his illegal war.

I do not like George Bush.
He is blamed for our gas prices going up.
He has gotten us into their war, and is trying to change another countries way of living. No one comes over here trying to change us. That country isn't even our country, so why do we care so much about what happens to it.
I'm sick of him sending our people over there,
I'm sick of him lying to us and telling us he won't,
I cannot wait to get a new president.
