Because they are just ignorant. They think because it has a Japanese name that you are taking away from American jobs. Amost all "foreign" cars are now made stateside whilst most "American" cars are assembled in Mexico and Canada! Go figure!

True, even a lot of imports are made in the US now, and with a lot of domestic parts. Tell them to quit being so redneck about it.
