the wedding ceremony is at 3pm and i was planning on wearing a white blouse with a black pencil line skirt for the ceremony. I have a nice evening dress for the reception but dont have a nice cardigan to wear for the ceremony. is the white blouse and black skirt appropriate for the ceremony? or is it weird to change for the reception?

I don't think its inappropriate. Its actually quite respectful to makesure you are dressed properly for each.

I would go ahead and change and have fun!

That sounds like a very appropriate outfit to read at a wedding, so long as the skirt is not a mini and the blouse is not sleeveless.

My mom wore one dress to my wedding and anopther to the reception.

Thank you for caring enough to want to be dressed appropriately for a Catholic wedding!

Relax.
Your blouse and skirt will be completely appropriate.
To be completely authentic, though, be sure to bobby pin a wrinkled Kleenex atop your head.

(sorry, that's what 13 years of Catholic school will do to you.)

As far as changing for the reception? It's done all the time.

Enjoy!! (and remember to speak loudly and clearly) :)

the white blouse and skirt are appropriate for the ceremony.
it is up to you if you would like to change for the reception, maybe to be more comfortable for dancing and such. hope this helps!
have a great time!!!

I think the shirt and skirt would be too formal. Try something a bit less business like, it's a wedding, not an executive meeting.

Completely appropriate.
Good choice, and very respectful for ceremony.
