I don't understand what people mean when they say it's not "natural." Natural means something that exists in nature... homosexuality is naturally occuring, therefore it is natural. Homosexuality is frequently seen among other primate species, not to mention that it has always been a part of human culture (whether openly or not). What do you mean by not "natural?" It happens in nature, therefore it can't be not natural. I just don't get that argument.

I do think that same sex marriages should be legal, I don't think that there's a substantive difference between "unions" and "marriage"--it's not all in the name, there's nothing in the name but pointless bigotry, and haven't we already been through "separate but equal"? And I don't get how legalizing same sex marriage would be the end of society. Nobody has yet explained that to me, except to say that in Norway they have legalized gay marriage and more Norwegian kids are now born out of wedlock. What the connection is there, I'm not sure, and why it's bad for kids to be born out of wedlock, I'm not sure either, as long as they have a loving home.

I feel that any consenting adults that are choosing to spend their lives together should have the benefits of a legal union. Many same sex couples have commitment ceremonies that are like the weddings that heterosexual couples have. I don't understand what the fuss is. People want to cry, "It's not natural!" , "They can't reproduce, so it must be wrong!" This world is over populated anyway. Look at poverty and hunger across the globe. What is natural about that? Maybe if people would stop being so homophobic and let people live, this world would be a better place. You would be surprised at how many you are around everyday that are gay and are in committed relationships raising children. They are all around you and are "normal". In a committed relationship where two people have built and accumulated assets, it is only right that in case of the others death, that the partner automatically benefit. You can go to a lawyer and have papers drawn, but if you are legally married or have been together for a while, I believe that is automatic. Don't you think that we give lawyers enough money?

Why not? Separation of church and state! The Government does not need to waste our time debating what it has no business trying to regulate! For the Religious: If you choose, follow your church doctrine. For the non-Religious: Go to the justice of the peace.

I'm heterosexual, married w/ two kids. How does same sex marriage threaten my family or our values. If it did, wouldn't anyone who did not have our values be a threat? I don't like my government thinking that I do not have the ability to make intelligent decisions and judgments about my families welfare.

I do not think that same sex relationships are "natural". I think it is odd and would never live that lifestyle myself. However, I think they should be able to get married if they want to. I don't see any great harm in it. I realize that there are reasons people have as to why they shouldn't be able to, but none of them seem like concrete reasons.

It doesn't affect my daily life, safety or health or that of my family if same sex marriages occur. Therefore, I don't mind.

Why is it any of your business what other people do? Are you in their bedrooms with them? Do you even know any gay people?

Have you ever been in love with someone? How would you like someone else to tell you that you can't love them anymore just because they don't think it's natural.

Anything that does not personally effect you should not concern you. Live you own life based on what you believe but you have no right to tell others that they are wrong.

Natural no I don't but as far as legal I really don't care because the simple fact they aren't able to reproduce without reproduction their kind will die out leaving no questions about the legalities of their choices

Of course it should be legal. My personal belief is that anything that exists is meant to be (natural). It may be considered deviant by society's standards, but should not be considered illegal if no one is being harmed.

who cares who you marry. only the religious people care. every one should be happy with their private life. but the religious ones are believing in a book that has no proof of being real. what are they afraid of. i am married with 4 kids and i am teaching them to respect others no matter how they live. religion is so closed minded that even with proof they wont listen to any one with facts, and proof.

Yes. What is so wrong about 2 people loving each other? If God didn't believe in homosexuality, then why would he create them to be born that way?

No they should not be legal.

95% of the U.S. population DOES NOT want to legalize gay marriages.
