If you like who she is as a person, then it doesn't matter what her sexual orientation is. Forget about anyone who looks at you weird; they're most likely closed-minded.

No there is definitely nothing wrong with being friends with someone despite their sexual orientation. My best friend of about 6 years came out about two years ago and despite the fact that she has a girlfriend (who is also a really cool person and friend of mine), there have been a few people who wrote me off as being gay too. For instance, my ex was jealous of the fact that I spent a lot of time hanging out with them and pretty much accused me of having something else going on. I have absolutely no homosexual feelings but because I am associated with them, I also have to deal with the ignorance and pretty much stupidity of others. Theres nothing wrong with being friends with someone who is different then you and don't worry about what others think because friendship is more important then that. Good luck with everything and just remember that if you stopped being friends with her based on what others think then you are no better then the idiots judging you in the first place. Show that your better then that and don't let them ruin what could be a very meaningful friendship.

I have friends that are gay and lesbian, and it is no different than having straight friends. People are always going to look at things that are different, and as long as homosexuality is still seen as "strange", people will be curious. A friend is a friend, no matter their race, religion, or sexual orientation. You became friends with this girl for a reason - you connect, you have common interests, etc. Enjoy your friendship and don't let ignorant or intolerant people ruin it for you.

It's okay. I have some lesbian friends, some Bi sexual friends, some gay friends, and some transexual friends. I love all of them and we have so much fun together. People are scared of what they can't explain or what they can't accept. So they decide to outcast or hate what they can't explain or accept. Personally, I think that you're fine, don't worry about it. People will be people and it's their own fault if they decide to live in a nutshell for the rest of their lives. I like how you've accepted and expanded your horizons with having a lesbian friend. Good for you!

Absolutely not, lesbians are normal people jus like ourselves, regardless of the fact that they are into girls rather than guys, but they are fun to hang out with jus like normal people, lesbians and gays are getting to be a normal thing in today's life so i don't see why people are still weird with it

I´m sure they didn´t look at you weird ... you only believed that because you didn´t feel comfortable ... do you always think that everybody looks at you when you walk with another female?? (Think about that ...)
I think being friends with her isn´t wrong - but note: There is hardly anything greater than a REAL FRIENDSHIP, a close friendship, no sex at all, with another woman - a woman who you can really trust!!! I wouldn´t feel comfortable with a woman who wants other women for sex (Don´t understand me wrong: Not because of religious reasons!!)

there is nothing wrong with having gay or lesbian friends. Sometimes they are better friends than straight friends. I mean you would not even have to worry about she stealing your man since she likes girls right?

that's like asking if there's anything wrong with making friends with a blond person, or a gay man, or a nun.. isn't it?..
I don't think there's anything wrong with it, lesbians know plenty of people who are not lesbians, and straight people know many people who are gay (perhaps they don't know they know them though)..
