If you are clever enough to find this web site and phrase your question here, then you should do the following:

Research the topic. Make a list of animals, research them State by State and see what you can find. Organize your results. Put your plan in outline form. Transfer it to index cards. And think about it. Then think about it again. And talk to people.

This web site is NOT going to help you become a debater. The only way to be become a good debater is by debating. Go out a find someone to debate with. And do it again and again.

Sometimes the hardest road to follow is the smartest road.

Good Luck

The government has authorized the slaughter of wild horses, supposedly to control populations and overgrazing while animal rights activists pleaded for private adoption.

Another animal the government selectively slaughters is the bison. They're no longer a creature of the wild, even though they're classified as wild. They are as domesticated as cows.

The fate of wild horses was, and probably still is a very controversial issue. You should do a google search to obtain accurate and current government policy. Federal land management is under the jurisdiction of The Dep't of Interior.

The government allows people to build houses and expand into areas that wild animals live in. This minimizes how far animals may walk around to eat.

The government allows people and companies to deposit garbage and other pollution into areas where animals live, so they become unhealthy.

The government issues licenses for the hunting and killing of wild animals without the requirement that the animals be used for food. This throws out of balance the food chain.

I hope these ideas will help you.

Argue that the US "Endangered Species Act" gives incentive for property owners to kill any unusual or strange animals found on their land.
If someone sees a rare animal, it's not illegal to kill it. But if the animal is declared an endangered species, then it becomes illegal to kill the animal. And, in fact, it becomes illegal to develop the property if it might disturb the animal's habitat. So if you have an endangered species on your land, that land is essentially worthless because you can't develop it. So if Mr. Property Owner sees what might be a new or rare animal on his land, he may decide to kill it before it can be protected as an endangered species which might make his property worthless.
Try developing that argument for your debate.

Bear management - the government will authorize killing of some bears. http://www.nps.gov/seki/snrm/wildlife/bear_overview.htm

Some other people think it's not necessary to kill bears:

Try Googling the topic using the terms "bear management" and "wolf management" to get more information, then look at the Website of the Humane Society of the United States; http://www.hsus.org
You can expand your topic to look at coyotes perhaps.

Of course if the government cannot even control the poachers killing the animals, they are responsible to set up laws or policies to prevent it.

You can also include in your defend that the government is responsible for the killings because the government isnt capable of protecting its wildlife. so if thats the case it is just the same that they are responsible for the killings.

You might as well give up. You can't even type; how do you expect to win a debate against an intelligent individual?
