My vote is for the Gabler. Lots of issues in all eds, so it's a toss up. I'm no scholar, but I did extensive research on the text as well as a seminar in college. We concluded that the Gabler was as close to a single text as Ulysses got. Also, for reading purposes the flaws in the other texts are just more problematic. I know that gets into lots of authorial intention issues, but for me the Gabler is best.

For most normal purposes it doesn't matter. If you are doing scholarly work, you should compare texts and manuscripts, and make your own decision about the passage in question, but as a reader for its own sake the differernces aren't that big.

I have a bias against the Gabler, but the previous poster is right, they all have faults.
