(2(4)) X (5(4)) -23= 8 X 20 -23 = 160-23= A:137
-2(y+3)+6(y+1)= -2y+3+6y+6= A:4y+9
(5x) X (7(2))-20= (5x) X 14-20= A:5x-6
Thanks. That'll be $5x if x=2.

The easiest way to remember is to do the math in the parentheses first. So you would start with 2 x 4 = 8. Then you'd do 5 x 4 = 20. Then you'd work outside the parentheses. 8 x 20 = 160. 160 - 23 = 137. See? Good luck!

(2x)(5x)-23 = 10x^2-23 = 10(4)^2-23 = 10(16)-23 = 160-23 = 137
-2y - 6 + 6y + 6 = 4y
(5x)(7s)-20 = (5x)(7*2)-20 = (5x)*14-20 = 70x-20

(2*4) * (5*4) - 23 = 137
-2y-6 +6y +6 = 4y
(5x)(14)-20 =
70x-20
Since you're just simplifying, not solving equal to 0, that's as simple as you can get it.
Obviously you should try to do these on your own, this is basic stuff you need to learn since it is going to build from here.....but for everyone just telling you you're dumb, that's not what yahoo! answers are for. Maybe he needs help and wants to double check his answers before a test? Not up to you to solve his life, just answer his questions.

(2x)(5x)-23
[2(4)] [5(4)] - 23
(8) (20) - 23
160-23
137
-2(y+3) + 6(y+1)
(-2y - 6)
+ (6y + 6)
''''''''''''''''''''''''
= 4y
(5x) (7s) - 20 when S = 2
(5x) [7(2)] - 20
(5x) 14-20
(5x) -6
5x/5=6/5
x=6/5

(2x)(5x)-23
(2[4])(5[4])-23
(8)(20)-23
8x20-23
160-23
137
-2(y+3)+6(y+1)
-2y+-6+6y+6
-2y-6+6y+6
_____
-6+4y+6
_____
4y
(5x)(7s)-20
(5x)(7[2])-20
(5x)(14)-20
___
70x-20
If x=4 again then it's different:
(5x)(7s)-20
(5[4])(7[2])-20
(20)(14)-20
280-20
260
I think these are right. XD

I won't say the answers, but what you need to do is put similar numbers together (ex in #1: 2x and 5x) and use the distributive property.
