the whole way through the tournament games have been played thus:

game 2 group b.

game 2 group c
game 1 group d
game 2 group d
they've skipped group e, but today australia v japan in group f.
now why wasnt this game the third match today, or if it was going to be the first game why isn't the brazil game next? what is fifa at???

Um...the matches in Group E are being played today, just later on. Goodness knows why FIFA did it that way, but they did. Brazil will play tomorrow, along with both Group G games.

The schedule has been two games on Day 1, then 3 on each day after that through the first two sets of games (there are 32 games there, so 2*1 and 3*10). The third set of games will be played 4 per day, with 2 groups going each day (both games in the same group will be played simultaneously).
Today, the first game in Group F and both games in Group E will be played. Tomorrow, Brazil will play Croatia in the third game and both Group G matches will be played (may have done this for timing as well, as putting Brazil third tomorrow puts the game in late afternoon time in Brazil).

They play 3 games a day and the 2 games from group E follow the Australia/Japan match.
Brazil start their campaign tomorrow (Tuesday).

First they want to see the other countrys strength. If brazil plays first and scores plenty the bidders will fal to brazil side. To make it somewhat interesting brazil was delayed in showing there strength
