I was 19 and got my first 'real' job out of high school and could afford it myself. Now a days with phones being so cheap I feel like kids get them as soon as they are born. I don't agree with it. Especially when parents come into my cell store and buy their kid a $500 + phone, and than they're back in a week buying their kid a new one since they broke it, got it wet, or lost it in school.

I was 27 years old and very reluctant to move on in this avenue despite being a Techno Junkie.
I was quite happy with my home phone and memorised ever number I ever needed.
I then lost my flat through a messy seperation and was for all intent and purpose, homeless. I needed a phone for work so ended up with a Pay As You Go from vodaphone.
I then lived quite a while in bedsit land where the landlord/lady was always reluctant for me to install a landline. Having a mobile here was a necessary evil so I went contract.
I am now back into a flat and have the ability to use four phones, my mobile, my partners mobile, my landline or the voice over broadband thing.
Needless to say I hardly ever use my mobile, except for looking up nearly every bloody telephone number as my memory no longer needs to retain the info.
