it means once in his past life's he did some thing for some one and now its come back to kick his *** or help him along his path
karma is when you do something good or bad it comes back to you in a good way or a bad way .if what you did was bad it come back and kicks your *** hundred times over and if you did something good for some or just did good to some one

It means that the life history of his side of your marriage is so bad, that the only way your marriage could still be holding up is because he did good in past lives to deserve this happiness now.

oh, from what u have said, i think ur marriage is a happy story...
in the eastern world(mainly in india), the actions of an individual greatly affects his fate, or in short "karma" defines ur fate! so, in this context it wud mean that it is bcoz of ur good deeds in the past that u r having a happy married life(or the opposite!).;-)
