And here is a quatrain I wrote in my book of quatrains ..

39.Drunk was I at the rosy flush of dawn
On the fruits of thy ring which I did pawn
The day before, at the Tavern's door.
Alas! Both thy ring and thee are gone!!

interesting poem, i like it.
if you're divorced/widowed, while it
may be tacky, it wouldn't be improper.
I think the only impropriet would be if
you hawked it while you were still together.

here's one of mine...
unbidden dreams creep into my mind, I cannot seem to force them in line, flashes of heat, pulses of flame storming my mind like summer rain sparks of lightning, slow it begins crash of thunder, then it transcends raging flow, no ebb and tide current swept, along for the ride I slowly wake in a tempestuous state only to find it was all in my mind.

If you are still married and with this person then yes but if your divorced or going through a divorce and aren`t likely to get back together then no.

ouch! pawned the ring for liqor. Yeah she has a very good reason to drop you like a fly.

in other words yes it is very improper to do so.
