The same reason why they won't stop and "ask directions". They would rather drive 150 miles out of the way before they admit they are lost. It's a macho thing. They are supposed to be too manly to get sick and, if they don't go to the doctor, to them it's like not admitting they are sick. In turn, they feel that if sickness if not admitted, then it's not happening. That's why so many die of prostate cancer and the like. And for the few that do see the doctor because the pain is so intense, it's usually a little too late for them. So, it's their pride that keeps them from seeking medical help and that same pride is what causes their deaths. Guess it was worth it to them, huh?

It's a macho thing. Men sometimes see a medical visit as a weakness, especially if we have other family members, and put them first. I admit that I tend to think this way too, and usually wait until I can't ignore a problem anymore.

This is not stistically not found correct. If you go to any hospital 80 percent patients are men.Your generalisation is unfounded.Even sexologists are having more men patients. My enquiry with doctors and health workers I understand women and children mostly avoid going to doctors. If some men do not consult doctors regularly,it may be cost factor or illness may not require urgent attention.

It's not only men who do it - a lot of women do it as well. Some people just refuse to admit that there could be anything wrong with them. They're scared that their symptoms could be due to something serious, and they don't want to face up to that. So they just ignore it and refuse to consult a doctor.

I didn't know they did. I know men tend to make out that things are worse than they are. Maybe they don't want to go to the doctor because they know nothing is really wrong. Or maybe because they want to pretend they are macho.

well coz us men do think we are superior, we think that we can handle any syptoms by being a man lol funny but true, the only time men go to see doctors or hospitals is when we're forced to go coz we've just collapsed. lol its like women love shoppin well men think we can take any disease on without medication.

Not all of us do. Some of us go to the doctor regularly for physical exams, and aren't babies when we get sick at home.
