Yes it is. You might also check the Discovery Channel if you need a cable channel as a reference.

Hi!
PBS is, in fact, a network of tv stations; it stands for "public broadcasting system". Pbs is available through most cable networks (Even in Canada!), but it's really a broadcast tv channel relayed onto cable. When most people see PBS on cable, what you're really watching is the main pbs station (pbs headquarters if you will) in Boston, called WGBH. If the resource you list must be available only on cable, and not on regular tv, some good ideas might be:
animal planet
the discovery channel
history
the biography network
nature
HGTV
the learning channel

PBS is not a cable channel. It is public, hence it's name. Some cable channels that may fit your assignment are Discovery Channel, Animal Planet, History Channel, A&E, TLC(the learning channel), and the Biography Channel. Hope this helps.

PBS is not cable. It is publicly broadcast over the normal airwaves.
You don't specify the topic of your research, but there's any number of documentary style channels to choose on cable - History, Discovery, A&E ... loads and loads.

No, it's not a Cable channel. You should just double check if you can still use it for your assignment. If not, try The Learning Channel (TLC) or The Discovery Channel.

I would understand it to be NOT a cable channel
Typically there's network channels, NBC, CBS, ABC, Fox, PBS, and then Cable channels, - those channels introduced specifically for cable viewers, Hallmark, HBO, etc.
