I am the type of woman that feels that my husband is the boss of our house. He makes the rules and he handles the discipline. My problem is the rules he has for me are different than the rules he has for our daughter. I understand some rules are different but he spanks me for talking back, being whiney, and having attitude, but he would never consider spanking her and he lets her get away with murder. Of course I fully consent to the spankings but i think that he should have the same rules for the whole house. Am I wrong?

If all you are going to say is that I have issues because I let my husband run our house and spank me when I need it then please dont answer. I am not looking for judgement just advice.

Just to clarify, our daughter has absolutely no knowledge of any of this. If I need to be punished it is not done until late at night when she is asleep and at the opposite end of the house. That is one thing I am very adamant about. She will never learn of our behavior in that aspect.

Ok one last clarification, I never said I wanted him to spank our child. I meant that I would like him to rebuke her verbally if she throws a fit in a grocery store, or ground her when she scream I hate you at me. I get spanked because I consent to it. When she is punished she is grounded or put in time out.

You still did not know the idea of being spanked by your husband??? It is simply a type of foreplay for sex enjoyment,,even if it is a real spanking,,,,so he of course did not spank his daughter,,, why do u want him to spank your daughter even if she did a mistake her punishment depends on a lot of things,, as her age,,but as your husband consider spanking a part of foreplay,, so he will never spank his daughter,, not all men consider spanking a part of foreplay,, so,, some men may spank their daughters.

I think you need to sit down with your husband and explain how you are feeling. If you feel he is being unfair in his punishments toward you or your daughter then you need to tell him. My question to you is "Is he really being unfair or are you just upset that he has to punish you all the time?" It would seem that he is punishing you because he cares and wants you to be a better person. He spanks you because you are an adult and understand that he is punishing you because he loves you. You did not state how old your daughter is but maybe your husband does not feel that she would understand the deeper meaning of a spanking. Sit down with him and discuss your concerns about your daughter. As for you stop breaking the rules and you wont get punished!!!

Unfortunately there is no advice for something this dysfunctional. Most people are sane and have relatively normal views on relationships. Your household is beyond normal and i feel very saddened for your daughter.

This isn't about judgement, it's about extreme dysfunctionality and a gross misrepresentation of adulthood. You do obviously have serious issues from your childhood and instead of dealing with them you're both exploiting them. Until you're ready to face the truth, you should save your questions for a site that condones completely bizarre behavior. Yahoo isn't the place.
