My husband & I are legally separating because of our younger daughter abusing me physically. I cannot handle her, as I get bruised up worse trying to. I also cannot deal with the abuse, which has thankfully decreased some with her going to school & daycare, but her punches are more powerful. Her punishment is time-out or loss of activities. He gets our 2 kids, ages 8 & 9, & the house. He filed for the legal separation, not me. All I really know is that I have to get a job & move out, & we have to go to court. I really need some words of wisdom here. Our church won't help me. I'm not looking for sympathy. I just need to know what to expect at court & before going to court.

I will get some financial help, but not enough to live on, which is why I'm job hunting.

My little girl is getting counseling. Plus, she is in a school that gives her daily Occupational Therapy. Lucky for her, she is gifted, so they were not worried any about her falling behind in school. She will be in 3rd. grade in the fall, as she should be for her age. She just turned 8, and she is the youngest in her class.

Get a lawyer - some will take your case & get payment from your husband plus attend some type pyschological counseling. You are being screwed here. You are entitled to spousal support; plus visitation. File an OSC & ask attorney to go ex-parte to get you temporary financial support until the hearing.
You can also fill out paperwork online if CA,,, use this website

Child needs counseling & when you go to court demand child get it. No child has the right to pysically abuse their parent & you as her parent should not be penalized by losing your home or the other daughter.
Seems husband is not doing right by you... you need to get angry & start standing up for yourself & your rights
