I'm madly in love with a fictional character in a novel.... I've liked him since I read the book in the first grade! What am I going to do?!? Help!!

You are gonna have to get over it. He doesn't exist. And saying you are madly in love with words on a page actually qualifies you to be institutionalized. Go out with your friends. If you don't have friends, go out and make friends. It is amazing what good human interaction can do for your state of mind.
Words on a page can paint pictures we want to see. But you have to be able to separate fact from fiction, quite literally. When you are so deprived that books and stories seem real that's bad. If the book has simply painted the picture of your ideal dream guy, complete with mannerisms and speaking, remember you imagined half of it. Not real. Not real. Not real.
You will never get this guy so give it up. Don't read the book again. Donate it, sell it, bury it in a time capsule. Burn it if you have to. But stay away from the fantasy until you get a firm hold in reality.

WOW!!! Hmmm...I'm not going to say that you're pathetic...I also don't think you're in love with the actual character...What could be the case though, is that you're in love with someone who posesses all the characteristics of this character...We all know that if this person doesn't exist then you can't be with him.. What you should do is take all the things you love about this character and find them in a real life man...This can be done...

how fictional is this character?
maybe it would help if you see that character as your ideal partner in life. As you know being sooo ideal is being a perfectionist... and as you know, nothing is perfect...so don't dump anyone because he's not exactly like the one in the novel...
use that character as a guidline to find the person you want to spend your entire life with.

HI don't worry i want say your pathetic. there must be things about this character that makes you feel like you do.or it may be that there looks if you have seen pictures. what ever it is. maybe you need to find the person that reminds you of there sort.this is the only thing i can think of. hope this helps,

I say you know the meaning to safe sex!!!! If this is really a problem, it could be because at least this way you won't get hurt. I'm finding this hard to believe though. Never heard of this one before.

lol im the same way with movie characters just keep reading the book over and over eventualy you will relize it doesnt matter he isnt real and maybe you will meet someone else in real-life
