I just got out of high school a year ago and I don't even understand half the things the kids are saying anymore. Trust me though, when our children start talking in slang we will learn the meanings and catch on really quick. I know my grandma did and she's 72 years old. After you hear it enough you'll know what it means, just don't use it, I'm sure we all remember how embarrassing it was when out parents tried to use the slang of our grade school years.

I dont think age has anything to do with it-i wouldnt take it personally that you cant really understand or comprehend slang words, as most slang (in my experience anyway! this is not a generalisation and does not apply to all people) derives from some people who are either uneducated or just cant be arsed to speak properly!
Some kids think its cool as well, which is great if thats what they want! kids are kids afterall lol :)
Alot of children pick up slang in school and this is normal, i really wouldnt worry about it!

I wouldn't say you are old, just out of touch maybe. A lot of times once a woman has a child she tends to shut out a lot of the outside world and just focus on things pertaining to the baby. I am 28 and don't feel old, but I keep up with current events, fashion and language of the times.

Welcome to my world. I am going to be 31 next week and my son is going to be 4 in july.
I wouldn't want to be a teen or a twenty something ever again. Life, even though more challenging is better at thirty. Wiser.

their are new words said half way around the world every single day...but you are getting old.. you just have not toke that into consideration....everyone is going to get old eventually unless you have a time machine...so dont worry..you could see those teens that were on the bus talking as old as you are.....and i am sure they will not take that in....
