I have just bought a bike so i can ride it to work, i normally walk and it has been keeping me quite fit but i have to leave too early when i walk. Does cycling tone your stomach musle like walking or is it just your legs?

Cycling is good for your legs, bum and torso. If you want to focus more on your abs and obliques mix it up a little; ride for five minutes normally then do one minutes minutes standing sprint. This will do two things, it will introduce an element of interval training (this is where you mix high and low intensity and burn fat more efficiently) . When you stand up you also involve the torso muscles more in the riding.

I bike alot an it is an awesome way to travel and stay fit. Enjoy :))

Cycling by far. Sure it's not free like walking, but there much, much less impact on the joints and it's much more effiecit (assuming you're a proficient cyclist). I hate walking. I cycle wheerever I can, which is why I have 2 bikes. One for racing around on, the other if I need to lock it up in a dodgy neighbourhood 0_0

I say both if you switch them up. But I think that fast walking or running burns the most calories, which is what your aiming for. To keep really fit, it is important to get in a good cardio workout (biking, running, fast walking), lifting weights for at least a half hour a few times a week along with a good low fat diet.

Both are good forms of exercising so why not walk on the days you can make it to work on time and bike on the days your in a hurry!! that way the variety will work more muscles and burn off just as many calories!

P.S seen you pics and keep doing whatever your doing now because it looks like its working!!

It depends on how you bike ride... if you are just going to go at a nice easy pace.. then it will still help your legs and your butt... but not soo much your stomach and arms. If you are going to keep up a good speed and get a swaet out of it, then it should definately work the same.

When i went to a spinning class which is a an exercise class on exercise bikes, i found that the next day, my abs were in a lot of pain, so it obvoiusly really worked my stomach muscles.
