What you're referring to are the 'soap' shows, the ones where you wash your 'dirty laundry' in public...

First, I think these people there on the shows have serious emotional and mental issues, and secondly, a very low self esteem and nearly no moral values.

Not that you can biase that as applicable to all western women. As in any culture, you can find the bad ones more portrait, as the 'unsual' of it is a nice way to divert from your 'own boredom', or simplicity.

It's just the made up of the shows, which needs to meet quotas, and how would you better go for meeting quotas as to have highly unusual topics with, as in many instances, paid actors playing these roles. Of course, if you would contact the show management and inquire about this, they would simply deny it.

Um...so what was it what I wanted to say? Oh, right...just taking a few extraordinary exceptions should not make you judge about the majority of the non-displayed western women, the women who work hard for their families, raising their kids to be good people, to stay away from Booze and drugs, and live in mostly sincere monogamous relationships. I am talking here about women with family values and support. Not about some outcasts who hope to make a quick dollar appearing talking rubbish on TV.

If you have more questions, please feel free to contact me, I might be able to explain in a different way then.

You aren't watching the right shows. Jerry Springer is a show basically for "shock value" and most normal people wouldn't put themselves in that position. Maury on the other hand, I haven't seen any shows that were like JS's - usually Maury is more laid back and I've NEVER seen him disrespect women. You are just not watching the right stuff is all.

Good question and hopefully that treatment is inaccurate. BUT, people choose how to let others treat them so if women in real life are allowing men to treat them this way, it's because the women don't have a high self esteem. That is soooo sad to me. It's a direct reflection on the relationship women had with their fathers. If the father was totally involved and always treated his daughters and sons with respect and was totally involved in every aspect, they are going to grow up (99% of the time) to be very healthy, confident, self assured and grounded individuals who will clearly understand how to set boundaries for themselves on how to be treated. It's that simple.

Otherwise, they always question whether or not they deserve the treatment/abuse/disrespect they are getting and they have great difficulty putting it all into perspective because they have nothing to base it on other than their direct environment. People with low self esteem automatically attract people who will play on that by mistreating them. It's a vicious cycle.

It may be dramatized on TV BUT, if you were grounded and self assured, would you go on such a program and look for that kind of attention? No you wouldn't so there is some truth to the way they exploit themselves on tv. Something in them says that it's okay to be exploited in such a negative light in front of millions of people. It's that lack of perspective.

If you judge America by Jerry Springer than you have a LOT
to learn. Get away from the talk shows and into the world.
If you really want to learn about the freedom of women in the
West, compared to the Middle East for example, you have to meet
them in real life.

Jerry Spring and Maury Povich are really not good examples of modern day society. They are basically society at it's absolute worst. The modern day equivalent to throwing the christians to the lions and watching them get attacked and eaten alive. I don't think it's only the women who are treated like animals on these shows. The people in general are treated like circus freaks.

It's a free world. Well some of it........ Obviously you live in a country where women are not allowed to make fools of themselves for money on a TV program.

I'm a 62 year old male, and my opinion is that it is the way our society is today. I don't think it's right but it's just the way things are going these days and it will probably get worse.

Well there, Acmed, we don't brutalize out women for showing their faces, castrate our women, nor rape them for not following some nonsensical Islamic law. You are rude and out of line.
