Sure can. I have a friend who has has 6 kids, and is pregnant with her 7th. She breast fed all of them, and has been pregnant within 3-6 months after each birth, even though she was still breast feeding at the time.

without taking your tempratue every day, there's no way to tell when you are ovulating. So, yes, you can. Most women start ovulating again when they introduce solids and stop breastfeeding exclusively, usually at around 4-6 months. I was fortunate to not get my period until I completely weaned my daughter at 11 months! If you are interested in tracking your ovulation as a means of birth control, check out www.tcoyf.com. A great book and a great site about fertility!
