Typically this is a pretty rough event. Lots of aggressive behavior, arrests, drug use, and general menacing. 10 years ago, groups of Parade goers sexually assaulted scores of women in Central Park. Lots of collateral damage is expected. Which is why stores board up their windows. It's not out of racism.
The show Seinfeld spoofed the parade and it caused a huge uproar.
Bottom line it is a shady event. Stay away.

It is a beautiful day for the community and everyone who shows up to enjoy the parade. There is no trouble at this wonderful event.

If it's Puerto Rican Day I would guess there would be a lot of shoplifting and knifing. Those Latins love there knives

Why would you even ask such a thing?The answer is NO! I've had more fun @ THE PUERTO RICAN DAY PARADES than any other.

Usually is as I have experienced in NJ in Camden. Usually some store windows smashed, heavy drug use, and items thrown at others. Not an area you want to be...

NOT REALLY , THEIR WAS 2MILLION PEOPLE THEIR AND ONLY 60 ARRESTS FOR DISORDERLY CONDUCT. THATS NOT A LOT FROM WHAT I SAW ON THE NEWS THIS MORNING IT WAS A NICE TIME AND EVENT.
