No. You're more likely to burn, because petroleum jelly has no sun filter. How fast and deep your tan gets depends on how dark your skin is in the first place. Very high SPFs can inhibit tanning altogether, but a normal factor (15-20) will allow you to tan as much as you are able. Anything claiming to deepen or accelerate that is essentially makeup.

no, but i know a few people who have used baby oil to get a nice tan. but i agree with the others and u should use something with sunblock in it. it's way too dangerous to go without it now. More and more people are getting skin cancer, and u should protect yourself.

I wish i had a tan. I'm pasty white cuz it's always cloudy in Seattle. I think I'll take the advise of all these answers. Sounds good to me. ooh and also I'll try KY too.

Better tan than using what? Egg whites? Sulfuric acid? PAM? Lighter fluid? I don't think so. You could always stay in your house while it's being "cleaned".

Yeah! So good your skin will fall off from skin cancer!
We don't have the same ozone anymore that we did when we were kids. Use sunscreen.
