I am an Arab and a Muslim and come from the Middle East and I am studying abroad, and I just finished my third year at the university in the USA. As long as you went to an international school or school with an English system, then you are good to go. Be open about different cultures and socialize with other people and remember you will always find some one the same as you are.

If you need to ask me more personal you can email me.

If you don't mind being spat on when you walk down the street or having a cavity search whenever you go to an airport then it'll be OK.
In the UK they might storm into your house and shoot the hell out of you if you wear a yashmak or are a shade of brown but otherwise you'll have a whale of a time.

no I don't think so. It depends where you are going to and also on your own attitude. I would advise you to be open and tolerant to the society and culture in that country and they probably will do the same to you as people are more likely to discriminate others that they don't know or don't understand.

Not really....and you should be accepted as a student. One thing to learn would be to READ English and understand it well.
I had a friend who was a doctor in Russian but never learned to read English altho he could pick up languages in two weeks. He could not pass the tests to be Dr. in USA as he could not read the questions.
He had taken as his second language, German.
