Can you believe that my son's biological father gets to go by the guide lines of the state we live in? He has only seen my 5 year old 5 times and really doesn't know him at all. My son is scared that he has to stay with him this weekend and for 6 wks. in the summer. Not only that but we live almost 5 hours apart from eachother. I think that that court system is a joke and whomever wrote these rules of visitaion must not have any children at all and they really act like that we live in a perfect world and if you are able to have kids that makes you a perfect parent. I mean he didn't even care to see my son for 4 1/2 years and now that his new wife found out she can't have kids they all of a sudden want to have mine. Not only that but he owes almost $10,000 in child support, he has never paid til now. So when I've tried to prosect him for the back support they told me that they wouldn't do anything because he is now paying his $35 a week. He has never had a job in his life. What'd think?

I agree with you. When a parent doesn't use their right to visitation, then suddenly wants it all, that has got to do damage to a child. The system is so overloaded that they can't do a case by case review and then limit visitation for an elusive parent.

If you can, try to talk to your ex and explain what your child's fears are. See if before he takes him for 6 weeks, he will visit him as much as possible.

Its his kid too - If you love your son, and it sounds like you do, you'll help him to get to know his father.
